Endowments
A memorial or tribute gift can be established in the form of a named endowment with a minimum gift of $25,000 to fund a specific interest that is consistent with the mission and goals of SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation in Mt. Vernon, IL.
With an endowment, the principal is invested to create a source of income. Only the earnings are used to support the purpose for which the endowment was established.
Your tribute gift will provide a lasting memory of the honored person and will benefit your chosen cause in perpetuity.

The Norma Fairchild Education Endowment is a permanently restricted fund designated to Employee Professional Development and Education. The endowment, created with an abundance of love and admiration for Norma’s dedication to SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital and the greater Mt. Vernon community, is dedicated to equipping our local SSM Health employees - physicians, nurses, therapists and clinicians – with advanced skills, cutting edge knowledge, and up-to-date practices in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
Norma Fairchild has been a pillar of the Mt. Vernon community for many decades. Her love for our community, coupled with her passion for health care and education, is undeniable. Norma has served the community in many facets – always bringing to the table her thoughtful wisdom, steadfast leadership, and unwavering advocacy. Norma’s community service has had an immeasurable impact on countless lives and we are honored to recognize and celebrate her lifetime work.
